This study proposes a methodology for adopting e-Commerce in the Chilean small and medium enterprises (SME). This methodology includes the essential steps required to adapt the organization to e-commerce, with strategic components for the first stages, and functional and operational steps in the later stages for the successful implementation of the methodology in the SMEs. This methodology was validated through case studies undertaken in two SMEs that have implemented e-Commerce, and have faced the typical problems presented with the adoption of this technology
