This work presents the subject of Quality of Service for IP networks in versions 4 and 6. It presents a range of existing tools, developed mainly by Cisco, for the Cisco Catalyst 3550 and Cisco Catalyst 2651 devices. We summarize the characteristics of each studied mechanism, and the experimental results obtained in the use of these at the time of granting differentiation to traffics sensible to existing IP networks parameters, such as bandwidth and the propagation delays.
