In this work, the implementation of a real-time laboratory for educational purposes and collaborative research in the area of Automatic Control is presented. The infrastructure of data network used is High-Speed Network (Internet2 in America). Here are the principal considerations of its development, they are: the procedures for monitoring network link, installation of applications and start up operation. The process used is the control of temperature of a water reservoir. The final application shows that a suitable evaluation of the network link, a good characterization of the plant and the use of suitable communication and video conference protocols, allow development of systems with a significant contribution to education and to collaborative work.
