This paper presents a methodology to estimate the reliability in an electrical distribution system, based upon the events history and in accordance with the present Chilean electrical norms and the deregulation concepts. A brief presentation of some concepts of electric supply quality with pertinent legal precepts. The theory and some methods of electric distribution reliability are discussed later. There after, a methodology is given first to evaluate the reliability in distribution systems. is proposed Finally, some conclusions about the proposed methodology are stated.
