ROMERO, Carlos R; JORGE, Nelly L y GOMEZ, Manuel E. Characterization of Ilex Paraguariensis using Gas Chromatography of the Volatile Components. Inf. tecnol. [online]. 2006, vol.17, n.2, pp. 3-6. ISSN 0718-0764. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-07642006000200002.
The volatile compounds of the leaves of Ilex Paraguariensis have been studied by gas chromatographic using a capillary column with phenylmethylsilicone as stationary phase, to contribute to its chemotaxonomic characterization. Two methods of extraction of volatile components were evaluated: steam distillation and Static Headspace Analysis (HSA). The HSA technique is the most suitable to differentiate and characterize plant species by gas chromatographic analysis of their volatile components.
