In this study a thermodynamic analysis is made of the operation of an air conditioning system based on the use of a dehumidifying wheel, a heat wheel, an air heater, and adiabatic humidifiers. The analysis was based on a macroscopic model of material and energy balances, taking into account the adsorption equilibrium relationships applied to the sorption of water vapor in silica gel. The model allowed to simulate the operating conditions and to determine the variation of the coefficient of performance with regard to the required temperature increment in the air heater for desiccant regeneration. It was determined that the coefficient of performance decreases when regeneration temperature increases. Furthermore, it is possible to obtain comfort conditions by varying only the angular speed of the wheel and the water feed to a humidifier, thus maintaining easy control of the system
