MULERO, A.; CACHADINA, I. y CUADROS, F.. Accuracy and Validity of Simple Empirical Correlations for the Calculation of Excess Enthalpies. Inf. tecnol. [online]. 2004, vol.15, n.4, pp. 95-104. ISSN 0718-0764. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-07642004000400014.
Four empirical correlations are used to fit experimental data for excess enthalpies in binary mixtures, studying the validity, accuracy, and number of empirical parameters required. To that end, data for seven binary mixtures for which the excess enthalpy has the same sign and convexity, were selected for study. In the fits to the experimental data a maximum of three adjustable parameters were used, except in one case in which four parameters were used. For each case, we obtain the percentage of states for which one model is more accurate than the others. It is concluded that the choice of useful models which are accurate and easy to use for the correlation of experimental data for enthalpy excess can only be made through a process of trial and error
