This study presents a theoretical thermal analysis of a compact heat exchanger, with and without water condensation on the air side. The phenomenon of condensation of water vapor in the entering air current produces a film of water on the surface, partially or completely covering the surface. The analysis considers various geometric configurations with respect to the surfaces of the fins and the form of the tubes, including the traditional round form as well as flattened tubes. The results obtained reflect the efficiency of the fins in both cases , including a completely dry fin (no condensation) and a completely wet fin, that is completely covered with a film of condensate. It is concluded that the methodology proposed is a good alternative for the analysis and characterization of a heat exchanger since the results agree with those reported in the literature
