CINGUALBRES, R.E. y GOMEZ, E.. Numeric and Experimental Analysis of the Main Frame of the Cane Harvester KTP-2M. Inf. tecnol. [online]. 2004, vol.15, n.4, pp. 23-30. ISSN 0718-0764. doi: 10.4067/S0718-07642004000400004.
The objective of this investigation was to decrease the losses of stalks from the discharge conveyor in the KTP-2M harvester during its operation, re-designing the framework and trying to decrease its weight. Extensometric measurement techniques were used over an obstacle course to determine the dynamic coefficients of the different parts of the harvester. A finite element method was used to analyze the resistance of the harvester's main frame and the back portion was redesigned. Without increasing the weight of the material in this element a 2.6X improvement in rigidity was obtained, accompanied by a 1.53X decrease in maximum tensions, which became better distributed. Finally, a reduction in weight of 52 kg in this unit was obtained, while it was also verified that structural fractures of the frame occurred due to fatigue
