A novel method is presented to improve the formulation process of the system of equations describing the behavior of an electronic circuit by applying symbolic analysis. The behavior of an electronic circuit is modeled by using nullors, which is quite useful in representing their interconnection relationships by using simple data structures. In this form, it is demonstrated that the compacted system of equations can be computed by evaluating the Cartesian product of the interconnection associated to the nullator and norator. By using this formulation technique, the computational complexity during the manipulation of symbolic expressions is minimized. The compact system of equations is formulated by direct fill-in of an admittance matrix whose order is equal to the number of nodes minus the number of nullors. It is concluded that the calculated symbolic expressions are useful for synthesis and optimization procedures of an electronic design
