MARTINEZ, R.R.. Criteria for the Selection of Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing Systems (CAD/CAM). Inf. tecnol. [online]. 2004, vol.15, n.2, pp. 91-94. ISSN 0718-0764. doi: 10.4067/S0718-07642004000200016.
The objective of this study was to present in clear form the fundamental principles required to obtain a criterion of the advantages and disadvantages of computer aided design and manufacturing systems (CAD/CAM). The idea for setting these selection criteria were obtained during the initial acquisition of a CAD/CAM system. A Numerical Control by Computer (CNC) machine was adapted to two modalities of CAM, the first with an integrated CAD system and another with AutoCAD interaction. From the analysis it was determined that it was immaterial whether or not the use of CAD software was from the same company that produced the CAM software. The results of these experiments and observations provide a fundamental tool for selecting an efficient CAD/CAM system
