The objective of the present study is to fit a hydrodynamic model for a packed column with structured packing, based on experimental values. Two packing materials were used, one was made by the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Nucleares (ININ) of the gauze type made of brass and the other by Sulzer Ltda., also of the gauze type but made of stainless steel. The hydrodynamic model was fit using the method of least squares using the Levenberg and Marquardt methodology for non-linear equations. Experimental and theoretical pressure drops were determined using the model, as well as the fitted parameters of the model both for ININ and Sulzer BX packings. The ININ packing has a higher pressure drop than the Sulzer BX, due to its geometric characteristics. It is concluded that by using the fitted parameters of the model, flow regimes in the column may be defined when using ININ or Sulzer BX structured packing
