Resumen
PAZ, Yanira. Pablo Neruda e Isabel Allende: Las dos sagas de Joaquín Murieta. Atenea (Concepc.) [online]. 2005, n.492, pp. 31-44. ISSN 0718-0462. doi: 10.4067/S0718-04622005000200003.
The purpose of this essay is to contrast the appearance of and trace the evolution of a common hero, Joaquín Murieta in the play Fulgor y muerte de J. Murieta (1967) and Hija de la fortuna (1999) by I. Allende. While Nerudas Murieta is a hero of mythical-epical proportions, a hero with a strong ideological charge, Allendes on the other hand is an anti-hero, a character from whom one must be liberated. The structure of this character in both writers, although different, contributes to the creation of the popular imaginary of Joaquín Murieta
