This article pretends to show that the relationships between rights to honor and rights of freedom of information and opinion (conflicting relational hypothesis) are conceptually, much more reduced than the doctrine has traditionally given to be understood. This, in the measure that a redefinition of the essential content of the rights to honor in the legal code is done, overcoming the ideas that have predominated in the Chilean doctrine.
