In this article the constitutional control system developed by the Constitutional Courts of South America is briefly analyzed. This article is based on the analysis of the three types of inherent competences of the Constitutional Courts in the comparative law of jurisprudence like the organic control over national and international law guidelines, the solution of conflicts and disputes, and the protection of fundamental rights. It is necessary to consider if this analysis is done in a preventive or corrective way, as well as if the mentioned control is abstract or concrete, and the effects that the respective resolutions produce.
