The interactions of the new ligand bis(2-bromophenyl)disulfide (BrPh)₂S₂ = L with transition metal ions are described. Octahedral complexes [ML₂C1₂(H₂0)] (M = Mn(II), Fe(II), [Co(II) or Ni(II)) and CrL₂Cl₂(H₂0)₂]Cl were obtained and characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods which suggest that the bis(2-bromophenyl)disulfide behaves as a monodentate ligand.
