The educational tendency to focus piocesses on the student, implies a change in teachei's role, as well as the development of new competences, so íeseaich on the subject becomes lelevant. With this need in mind, a qualitative study was pioposed, in oidei to know how the students of fiíst yeai of health caieeis of Facultad de Medicina de la Univeisidad de La Frontera lepiesent the concept "Good univeisity teachei" using the natural semantic netwoiks technique. The sample weie 277 students of caieeis of Nuising (43), Kinesiology (38), Medicine (53), Nutrition (30), Odontology (57), Midwifeiy (24) and Medical Technology (32). At analyzing data , the chaiacteristic valúes of J, M, SAM set, and FMG weie found. In the semantic netwoik coie thiee gioups of woíd weie identified, coiresponding to concepts lelated to peisonal valué attributes: inteipeisonal lelationships, leliability, and how the teacheis develop and face educational praxis. Students give a high valué to the development of generic competences and peisonal attitudes lelated to how the teacheis should be, how teacheis should relate to otheis. Foi teacheis, this means identify them, give them valué, and develop them in oidei to face in a bettei way the changes in education, so contributing to the integral development of futuie health piofessionals.
