Continuous advances in diagnosis and treatment of cervical spine diseases have modified their surgical indications. Complex degenerative cervical disease not responding to conservative treatment is its main indication, with an important increase in these types of surgical procedures, also including trauma, scoliosis/deformities and neoplasm. Having knowledge ofdevices currently used in arthroplastyand arthrodesis, their general indications, biomechanics and complications enables radiologists to get accurate image interpretation as well as to render adequate radiology reports.
