Resumen

SANCHEZ-OLATE, MANUEL et al. In vitro propagation of Nothofagus procera ((Poepp. et Endl.) Oerst.) from isolated embryos. Bosque (Valdivia) [online]. 2004, vol.25, n.1, pp. 123-128. ISSN 0717-9200.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0717-92002004000100011.

In vitro propagation of Nothofagus procera was studied in MS and BTM culture media using mature embryos as the initiation material. Even at the embrionary establishment phase, there was no statistical difference between two media and the MS medium was selected because it produced more vigorous microseedlings. In the following proliferation phase, the results showed that hormonal treatments, in particular 0.5 mg/l of BAP and 0.05 mg/l of IBA, were better for the induction of buds and shoots. There were not many growth points observed at this concentration, which was improved by increasing the hormonal concentration to 0.5 mg/l of BAP and 0.07 mg/l of IBA. However, the manifestation and growth of the induced organs was significantly better in MS medium without hormones, which also spontaneously formed roots.

Palabras clave : Nothofagus procera; embryo culture; auxins; cytokinins.
