Group 2 received oral and vaginal placebo. Cefazoline (IV) was used preoperatively in both groups. The efficacy was clinically measured. Inclusion, exclusion and diagnostic criteria were established, also control scheme, matching different variables. For group 1 it was observed a 2.6% of infection. In the other hand, for group 2 there was a 16.1% of infection. (Odds ratio: 7.21 RR. 6.21 IC 95% Chi-square (10.83 p-value: 0.0009978). In this second group there were 5 cases diagnosed with vaginal cuff abscess, and none in the control group.
