We present an experience in the management of patients highly sensitized by Rh isoimmunization, analyzing the usefulness of evaluating of fetal blood velocity by Color-Doppler, through the measurment of the maximal systolic velocity (MSV) of the middle cerebral artery (MCA). In three cases presenting this illness, 19 intravascular transfusions were carried out. In 14 of these transfusions, moderate or severe anemia was found, which was correctly diagnosed by means of the measurement already pointed out. We found an adequate correlation between the middle cerebral artery maximal systolic velocity and the degree of moderate/severe fetal anemia, with a correlation index of (r= (_) 0,78). We emphasize the benefits of a non-invasive method in the management of fetal anemia caused by isoimunization or associated to other morbid conditions, and we feel that a new field is open to future research
