ROMERO G., Álvaro et al. TÚMULOS, IDELOGÍA Y PAISAJE DE LA FASE ALTO RAMÍREZ DEL VALLE DE AZAPA. Chungará (Arica) [online]. 2004, vol.36, suppl., pp. 261-272. ISSN 0717-7356.  doi: 10.4067/S0717-73562004000300028.

Excavations in the classic Az-70 site, cemetery San Miguel de Azapa, was excavated to register the constructive characteristics of a ceremonial mound. Based on this evidence we propose an alternative interpretation of the phase Alto Ramirez (600 BC-0) in the valley of Azapa, characterized as ideological components that modified the landscape and representation of a new social order

Keywords : Funeral mounds; Valley of Azapa; Formative period; Early Intermediate period.
