DE HOYOS, María. SALIENDO DEL CAJÓN POR EL RÍO JORDÁN: COSTUMBRES FUNERARIAS DEL VALLE DEL CAJÓN, CATAMARCA, ARGENTINA. Chungará (Arica) [online]. 2001, vol.33, n.2, pp. 249-252. ISSN 0717-7356. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0717-73562001000200009.
The objective of this work is to describe the funeral customs that are practiced today in the locality of Hoyada, placed 3000 m.a.s.l. in the Valley of Cajón, in the Catamarca Province in northwestern Argentina. The rituals that we have recorded encompass two instances: the first when there is the death of an adult member of this population, or when the soul completes its journey to the beyond; and second, for the "Day of Souls," or the day in which the souls return to this world in order to unite with their relatives, land and home
