We report the first record of Pinnixa valdiviensis Rathbun, 1907 (Decapoda, Pinnotheridae) in San Julián Bay (49°17'48"S, 67°43'30"W), Santa Cruz, Argentina, along with a commensal relationship with the echiurid Pinuca chilensis (Max Müller, 1852). The geographical distribution area of P. valdiviensis is expanded to include the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean and P. valdiviensis is incorporated as a new species for the Argentine sea. Morphometric data are provided for the species
