The present article reports novelties in two genera of Solanaceae: Solanum and Salpichroa. In Solanum, the identity and the synonymy of two species belonging to subgen. Leptostemonum (S. bonariense and S. guaraniticum) are clarified, and the presence of S. julocrotonoides (sect. Brevantherum) is reported for the first time from Argentina. The genus Salpichroa is documentated for flora of Chile, with three taxa (S. origanifolia, S. scandens and S. tristis var. lehmannii). All the species are described and illustrated.
