COLOMA, Cecilia; MARCHANT, Margarita  y  HEBBELN, Dierk. PLANKTONIC FORAMINIFERA DURING EL NIÑO 1997-98 OFF COQUIMBO (30°S; 73°W), CHILE. Gayana (Concepc.) [online]. 2005, vol.69, n.1, pp. 48-77. ISSN 0717-6538.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0717-65382005000100008.

Recent planktonic foraminifera from two sediment traps (CH10-2 and CH11-2) situated off Coquimbo (30°S; 73°W), Chile, during one and a half year (14 february 1997- 1 july 1998), were studied. A total of 26 planktic foraminifera species were identified, six are characteristic of warm waters and have appeared for the first time in the study area with El Niño 1997-98. The taxonomic revision (synonymies and combinations), character diagnoses and biology of each species, accompanied by a specific key and microphotographs (SEM), are presented
