ABSTRACT Acalodegma vidali n. sp., a new Macrodontini from Chile, is described. It is included within the genus Acalodegma, enlarging the generic concept of the original characterization for this genus. This new species has an endemic distribution in the Andean range of Mountains of 27º 36' South and 69º 20' West, inhabiting the Prepuna environment at about 4000 meters above sea level. General biological data and geographic distribution are given for all known Chilean Prioninae species
