This paper presents a phylogenetic analysis of the 18 known species of Zeugmatothrips. The analysis is rooted using the outgroup method. When the genus Cyphothrips was included in the ingroup, novelties results in a possible non-monophyletic group was obtained. Nine trees were obtained with c.i.= 0.594, h.i.=0.493, length=69 and g=0.46 (p>0.01). The strict consensus tree is has a c.i. (Rohlf) =0.938. The politomies was resolved using the Dmáx analysis. The analysis was repeated using an hypothetical ancestor, the length increase but the c.i. for the consensus was similar
