Abstract

BORGUCCI, Emmanuel. Macroeconomics from perspective realism and as a research tradition. Cinta moebio [online]. 2011, n.41, pp. 144-166. ISSN 0717-554X.  doi: 10.4067/S0717-554X2011000200003.

This essay tries to show that macroeconomic science from a long time rather to make economic research taking account neo positivist principles and point of view is a discipline with different perspectives and theories within “research traditions” as Larry Laudan said. Although, whether the macroeconomic phenomena is outside of researchers, public policy makers, and people in general, the understanding of macroeconomic as a science trends to be a form of perspective realism with a methodological commitment to naturalism, using models as primary representational entities of economic problems, and where truth are about its trends and capacities as suggested Ronald GiereandNancy Cartwright.

Keywords : macroeconomic; scientificrealism; researchtraditions; paradigm; logicalempirism.
