The article presents empirical findings characterizing the social sciences field in Chile, in the period 2000-2006, regardin its cognitive processes, in a disciplinary comparison. For the research, it was constituted a corpus of 479 publications reporting investigations whose authors are sociologists, political scientists and anthropologists. It was analyzed the way in which such investigations built scientific faets, considering paradigmatieframing, theoretical construction, and methodological procedures.
