Resumen
MIRANDA UBILLA, Horacio y GUZMAN MUNITA, Marisa. Pragmatic analysis of Grice's maxims applied to oral and written texts. Lit. lingüíst. [online]. 2012, n.26, pp. 229-246. ISSN 0716-5811. doi: 10.4067/S0716-58112012000200014.
The aim of this study was the analysis of the linguistic behaviour of Chilean speakers in real communicative contexts considering their pragmatic implications. (Austin, 1962; Grice, 1967; Searle, 1969; Vanderveken, 1990). To this end, formal and informal, oral and written discourses were studied. They were represented by the TV programs Tolerancia Cero and Morandé con Compañía, on the one hand, and El Mercurio and The Clinic, on the other. The study allowed to objectivize the violation and observation of Grice's conversational maxims and the role of the conversational implicature to recover hidden messages. The result of this is an important contribution to know more about the linguistic behaviour of Chilean people.
