In this text the author seeks to recall who once was his friend and guide in essay writing, from the disciple's outlook. Some of the most significant and recurrent fragments of his themes and problems are shared with the "ironical reader", his conceptions of the 20th. Century, his intelectual referents and his recurrence in the figure of Montaigne, mankind's situation from his essay "The broken word" and some others of his meaningful contributions. The text ends with "A Letter from Lukács to Leo Popper", a pretext to remember and to pay homage to one of the important cultural critics in Chile
