This article presents the traits of the process of elaboration of ideas in the essayist- journalistic prose of Durán. His world is represented in the prose format that compels the reader to a reflection that inspires poetical and philosophical attributes. Durán sees in what trembles seamless continuities and contiguities of presentments, shadows and reflections. Barthes, Ortega, Montaigne, Cerda, Paz and Skirius, among others, intercommunicate with each other in the tradition and in the loans of sense, in the explicit aims that cross the Latin American essay from side to side. Durán demands from himself to illuminate daily life with what is sacred.
