Pragmatic and discursive considerations upon the novel of Luis Rafael Sánchez are made in this article, to explain the hybridity of the genre and thus try to elucidate if this new way of textualizing takes its stand within a trend or if it finally belongs to another genre that comes from the preceding model, or classical one, within the context of an aesthetic tradition. The experience of writing novels opens itself to the inter and extratextuality with the world of popular music and dances such as tangos, guarachas and boleros, among others.
