Abstract

TERRAZAS PONCE, Juan David. The Concept of "res publicae", I: The Notion of "res" in the Language of Roman Jurists. Rev. estud. hist.-juríd. [online]. 2010, n.32, pp. 127-158. ISSN 0716-5455.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0716-54552010000100006.

The purpose of this article is to discuss the technical concept of "res" ("thing") in the language of the classical jurists. We come to the conclusion that said expression is only inherent to things susceptible to be object of the action of restitution. From this perspective, to clarify the notion of res is a previous and essential step to have a complete understanding of what the jurists meant when using the expression "res publicae".

Keywords : Res; Classification of things.
