This article attempts to study of property relationships in the founding stage of Ancient Rome, especially in relation to the legend on the assignment of the heredium to each citizen by Romulus. The documentary condition of the sources as well as the primitive economy of the Lazio are analysed, in order to determine if such assignment corresponds to the Etruscan era.
