In 1999, the examination of clinical files of Barros Luco Trudeau Hospital, allow as to investigate 40 cases with megacolon, fecaloma, intestinal obstruction or achalasia as main out go diagnosis. Only in one case of megacolon inquired in 1999 chagasic ethiology was confirmed by serology. The low incidence in this group, is caused by the fact that this hospital attend persons of zones of low chagasic endemia, with mistakes in the registers and lack of clinical suspicious
