ALVAREZ J., Alejandro; SANDOVAL C., Carmen  y  ZAPATA M., Mario. Intra-uterine testicular torsion: a case report. Rev. chil. pediatr. [online]. 2003, vol.74, n.5, pp. 517-519. ISSN 0370-4106.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0370-41062003000500010.

Testicular torsion can occur during foetal life or in the newborn, it is not a very frequent pathology. Objective:Given the low frequency of testicular torsion in-utero and the few published cases, we consider it important to demonstrate our clinical experience. Clinical case: A 41 week term infant, appropriate for gestional age, who had a left testis of stony consistency and right hydrocoele on physical examination. Colour doppler ultrasound suggested the diagnosis of testicular torsion in-utero. An orquidectomia with fixation of the contralateral testis was performed, and the sample sent for histology. Post-operative recovery was without incident. It is very infrequent to save the affected testicle, appropriate diagnosis and treatment permits the viability of the contralateral testicle to be maintained

Palabras clave : Testicular torsion; intra uterine; foetal.
