Abstract

From deoxycholic acid 6 two new brassinosteroids analogs bearing oxygenated fuctions in ring C, side chain and cis A/B ring juntion were synthesized. The plant growth-promoting activites of compound 4a and 5 was tested by the hypocotiles elongation and cothyledons expansion of radish bioassay. The compounds 4a showed growth promoting activity at 10^-5 mg/mL concentration in both bioassay, while that the compound 5 showed inhibiter effect in the cothyledons expansion test at the same concentration.
