The study of Eupatorium patens essential oil by gas chromatography, mass spectrometry and retention index determined that the main compounds were: (E)-caryophyllene (14.15%), g-muurolene (13.47%), a-pinene (11.11%). Analysis to determine their antimicrobial activities, showed positive activity against Bacillus subtillis
