Abstract
PONZI, ESTHER et al. ISOMERIZACION DE a-PINENO. INFLUENCIA DE LA CONCENTRACION DE HIERRO EN OXIDO DE CIRCONIO SULFATADO. Bol. Soc. Chil. Quím. [online]. 1999, vol.44, n.3, pp. 271-277. ISSN 0366-1644. doi: 10.4067/S0366-16441999000300004.
Sulfated catalysts of zirconium oxide (SZ) - which contained a constantmanganese amount - were promoted with iron (SFMZ) and test during the laboratory production of camphene from a-pinene. These materials were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), surface area measurements by BET method, infrarredspectroscopy with adsorbed ammonia (FTIR), and by the 2-propanol transformation reaction, used to characterize acidic sites. At low iron concentration, the addition of Fe during catalyst preparation increases the activity of a-pinene transformation. Results from the 2-propanol dehydration reaction reveal a decrease of acidity for increasing iron concentrations. These results would indicate that the activity change is related to catalystsacididy
