The purpose of this paper is to develop and prove the idea of "continuum" and interpret the simbolic conjugal bond between love and death in Ernesto Sabato's El túnel, based on some strategies of the text. The encounter and non-encounter of the "continuum" is produced by the amalgamating eagerness and solipsism in the love relationship between J. P. Castel and María Iribarne.
