OCHAGAVIA L., S.J., Juan. Santidad y Teología (13.05.05): Reflexiones en la canonización del padre Hurtado. Teol. vida [online]. 2005, vol.46, n.3, pp. 427-438. ISSN 0049-3449.  doi: 10.4067/S0049-34492005000200006.

Holiness and theology need to be brought closer together once again, for they have grown distant from each other over the last few decades. The Bible offers us models of prophets, teachers and the wise, entirely dedicated to the service of the Word of God and to the interpretation of the way of acting and the designs of the Lord in the history of Israel. The writers of the New Testament invite one to holiness and to growth in the knowledge of the mystery revealed by God in Jesus Christ. St. Bonaventure and St. Thomas Aquinas take up and explore more deeply the intimate relationship between theology and holiness. For them, it is not merely a matter of listening, but of fulfilling what is heard. Nor is it only a thing of science, but of "wisdom in love". Theology done in sanctity is the prolongation of the trinitarian processions and, at the same time, impels one to collaborate with the Trinity present in history and guiding it once again toward Himself in order to grant us full happiness. The true theologian is the one who advances together with divine knowledge and love, because the Son and the Holy Spirit are sent to him. Holiness and theology are mutually empowered and oriented for the edification of the Church
