POLANCO FERMANDOIS, Rodrigo. El milenarismo de Ireneo o teología antignóstica de la caro capax Dei. Teol. vida [online]. 2000, vol.41, n.1, pp. 16-29. ISSN 0049-3449.  doi: 10.4067/S0049-34492000000100003.

This article is a description and interpretation of millenarianism of Irenaeus. As a matter of fact, Lyons’s Bishop has been considered traditionally as a quiliast. But this aspect of his thought has not been interpreted in the general context of his theology. So, the author, divides his work in two aspects. First he describes, in seven steps, Irenaeus’ millenarist conception. He indicates the most remarkable texts of Ad. haer. V, 31-35. In these texts the Lyonese expresses his thought about the matter. Then he interpretes these datum from Irenaeus’ theology of the resurrection of the flesh. The author’s fundamental reasoning is that Irenaeus supports on quiliast tradition learnt in his native country. But he does it in order to explain the central element of his anthropology: flesh (= man) needs time to get accustomed to God and becomes incorruptible. So that the millenium is the last section of time (theologic or real) essential for the flesh, full of Spirit and transformed in the Son, becomes capable of embrace God
